目黒シネマで『ヒプノシス レコードジャケットの美学』を観る。「Bar Oh! baby」のコバマコさんに勧められて来たのだ。マコさんはわざわざ上映館の情報をメッセージで送ってくださった。そこまでしてもらって観なわいわけにはいかない。よい映画。来てよかった。とくにノエル・ギャラガーの言葉には含蓄があった。映画館のロビーでカトウさんという紳士に声をかけられ、上映の前後に会話する。
原宿に移り国立代々木競技場第一体育館を見学する。こちらではオーストラリア人のジャックという中年の旅行者に話しかけられる。彼は「なんて美しい建物だ」としきりに言った。この近くのほかの丹下健三建築を教える。東京都庁・新宿パークタワー・東京カテドラル聖マリア大聖堂。ジャックと別れ、ハンドボールのチケットを買って競技場の中に入る。
At Meguro Cinema, I watched Squaring the Circle: The Story of Hipgnosis.
I came here on the recommendation of Mako-san from Bar Oh! baby. He even went so far as to message me the screening schedule. With that kind of kindness, how could I not come? It was a good film—I’m glad I saw it. Noel Gallagher’s words, in particular, carried real weight.
In the theater lobby, a gentleman named Mr. Kato struck up a conversation with me, and we chatted both before and after the screening.
Later, I headed to Harajuku and visited the Yoyogi National Gymnasium.
There, I was approached by Jack, a middle-aged traveler from Australia, who kept saying, “What a beautiful building.”
I told him about other Kenzo Tange buildings nearby: the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, Shinjuku Park Tower, and the St. Mary’s Cathedral.
After parting ways with Jack, I bought a handball ticket and went inside the stadium.
