I went for a jog to explore the area around Kuniyoshi Station on the Isumi Railway.
Just off the main road in front of the station sits Kuniyoshi Shrine. I had often passed it by in the car, always meaning to stop but never quite doing so. This was my first time stepping inside. Surrounded by rice fields, the shrine grounds were wide and inviting. From beyond the neatly trimmed shrubs, I heard the low call of a bush warbler.
Leaving the shrine, I crossed the Isumi River and ran slowly through a landscape of farmland and low wooded hills. The wind was a bit strong, but the sunlight was warm—perfect weather for light exercise. My body gradually loosened and began to warm from within.
I was carrying my Ricoh GR in hand as I ran, and the one thing I especially felt like photographing was the ladybugs feasting on rapeseed blossoms along the embankment. This camera excels at macro photography, and it naturally draws my eye to small details.
I stopped often to take photos, and by the end, I had covered 7.5 kilometers.
